Food Specialities

Chichiripieno or stuffed chichi is a particularly tasty focaccia (flat brad) filled with tuna, anchovies, capers and red and green peppers.
Perfect as a snack or aperitif and with local appetizers. Every year, the local tourist office holds the "Feast of the stuffed chichi"
which takes place on the first Sunday of August and is a good occasion for tasting this food speciality.

Funghetti, literally small mushrooms, are very simple cakes made of water, sugar, flour and anise. Originally they
were available in the shape of a rosetta (small rose), since a certain amount of melted sugar joined a few of
them together, the only inconvienience was that they tended to become very hard in a few days time.
